What to do when looking to release your timeshare
Sometimes timeshare owners need to hand-back or sell their timeshare weeks for a variety of different reasons. At this time, owners looking for an exit, can be extremely vulnerable to fraudulent operators.
EUROC suggests that before engaging with any 3rd party company offering to release you from your timeshare, that firstly, you always make contact with your Home Owner Club first to discuss the options available to you and if there is an exit programme in place.
Secondly, carry out research and check the 3rd party company credentials on the Timeshare Business check website, this site provides advice, warnings and resources that enable timeshare consumers to carry out checks on businesses and products prior to making any payments and/or entering into contracts. https://timesharebusinesscheck.org/checking-decision-making
Finally, if you are unsure at any time or are not able to speak with your club/resort, it is advised that timeshare owners should contact the Timeshare Task Force Helpline for information and advice regarding timeshare release before making any commitments to a 3rd party company.
