EUROC appoints member relations manager

Jane Gilmartin has been appointed member relations manager for EUROC.

Jane has an extensive career in the timeshare and holiday industries dating back to 1996. After working as an overseas tour manager in Europe, Canada and the USA, Jane spent three years with Sunterra as a team leader.

When Diamond Resorts International (DRI) purchased Sunterra, Jane moved to its related travel partner, The Big Journey Company, as operations manager. A move to human resources followed.

From 2013 to 2018, Jane returned to DRI as the club marketing and events manager within the European and US club operations department.  She spent much of this time exploring new opportunities and enhancing club benefits for owners and members. This required working alongside many stakeholders throughout the DRI network.

Jane brings to this role a wealth of experience, knowledge and understanding of the issues facing home owner clubs of all sizes and locations.

She took up her new post on 1st April 2019.

One of her first task has been to meet committee and club representatives to understand how EUROC can help them and their owners.

Jane explained: “One of my main priorities is to be proactive in promoting the importance of having a collective voice throughout the timeshare ownership community.  For example, one of the first things on our agenda is lobbying against the new bed or tourism tax that is being pushed for in some parts of the UK. This would see timeshare owners being taxed twice, both as owners and tourists. It is only by standing together on issues such as this that our voice will be heard, not just in the UK but across Europe.”
